INTERNATIONAL SIGN LANGUAGES DAY - 23RD SEPTEMBER 2024

This week, we celebrated International Sign Language Day and had a special assembly to learn more about deaf people and sign language. The children learnt that according to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are approximately 72 million deaf people worldwide. Also, there are over 300 different sign languages and over 70,000 deaf people in the UK have British Sign Language as their first language. A group of children who attended our sign language club, then taught the whole school some sign language to the song 'Sing a Rainbow'!
