At Waterfoot Primary School, PSHE helps to give pupils the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives and to become informed, active and responsible citizens. It is at the heart of our whole school curriculum and plays a central part in developing our whole school ethos and values. We follow the SCARF PSHE curriculum which is enhanced with our myHappymind curriculum and NSPCC 'Speak out stay safe' and 'PANTs' resources.

As a school we are working towards the 'Lancashire Equality and Inclusion Mark' and have currently achieved our Disability Equality Badge, Race Equality Badge, Holistic Diversity Equality Badge and Religion Equality Badge. This shows our commitment to how we have implemented  measures to embed equality and inclusion throughout our school and practice, aiming to enable all pupils to thrive in a diverse world within a supportive and caring learning environment.

We are a myHappymind GOLD status school! myHappymind is a mental health and well-being programme, we use in school, to enhance our PSHE curriculum and to support children in learning habits to support their own mental health. It does also cover all the mandatory objectives from the DfE Relationship Education Curriculum and also around 70% of the PSHE objectives.
