After many, many months of practice and hard work......this Wednesday the dance club children took part in the Rossendale Dance competition at King George's hall, Blackburn and WON first place!!! It was an absolutely amazing effort from all the dance troop. They competed against eleven other schools in front of an audience of at least five hundred people. The children were shocked and proud of their achievements and their dance performance was superb! Their dance theme linked to the Birmingham commonwealth games and they performed a dance titled 'Countries of the Commonwealth', where their dance represented a mash up of the four dance styles of four original countries of the commonwealth: the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, South Africa and India. We at Waterfoot are very proud of everyone who took part. It has been a pleasure to watch the children work as a team, grow in confidence as performers and overcome dance challenges. Well done, Waterfoot dance troop! As the winners, the children will now go on to compete at a Lancashire level in Blackpool in the near future!
