Netball tournament

Our netball team had a great time this evening at the Rossendale netball qualifiers at Haslingden High School! The team began with a match against St Annes school and we started very strongly with Millie scoring 3 goals in the first half so that we were 3-0 up at half time when we rotated. In the second half, St Anne's came into the match more and pulled a goal back but then Eva scored another for us so that we won 4-1!  Our second match was against Broadway Primary. Poppy and Phoebe started the match as GS and GA with Harriet and Eva in defence and Alexi at centre. Both Poppy and Phoebe were unlucky not to score on a number of occasions and Harriet & Eva made some super interceptions at the back and Alexi making great space to support her teammates! We were unlucky to conceed a goal to Broadway in the first half. In the second half, Brackson came on as GA and Alexi moved to GS. Millie came on as centre and controlled the midfield comfortably. Brackson and Alexi had a number of opportunities to score and were so unlucky not to get a goal. We finished the game 1-0 down but with our win in the first game, we qualified for the finals on May 22nd at All Saints High School! Well done to all our super netballers and many thanks to our brilliant coaches Philippa and Emily!
