Keeping Fit and Active!
It is extremely important for you and your children to stay active during this period. Government advice is for 60 minutes of exercise every day. With this in mind a Lancashire PE resource has been developed over the last couple of weeks centred around 4 key themes:
Move - resources that help children to achieve 60 active minutes.
Learn - Skill and sports skill development. A FMS skill activity for KS1 and a KS2 sport skill activity adapted from the Lancashire SOW form a weekly PE activity for children to undertake.
Challenge - A weekly personal best challenge linked to the weekly PE learn activity along with a current /trending challenge.
Play - providing ideas and resources for children to be active through play.

I hope this helps and gives your children different, enjoyable ways to keep active.

Homework
Your child will receive homework every Wednesday. We ask that you encourage and support your child in completing the tasks each week. There is spelling homework which comes home in their homework folder and MyMaths which can be accessed online. A letter regarding your child's personal log in for MyMaths has been sent home at the start of the term; if there are any issues with this please let us know as soon as possible. We also ask that you help your child practise their times tables using our new TT Rockstars (they have all been given their TT Rockstars log in). Furthermore we greatly need your help in hearing your child read their home reading book, firstly to help with their fluency and expression and then questioning them using their book mark question prompts to help develop their comprehension of a text. Topic homework is sent home each half term and we set an expectation for children to complete two pieces over the half term. Please note; if their homework involves a photo and you cannot print this homework - send it to the school email address and we shall print it off in school. Many thanks for your support.
