Please remember to come to school in full P.E uniform on these days.  Please refer to the Uniform Policy if you are unsure.

Homework is a very important part of UKS2 and preparing for high school. All children are expected to complete homework unless they are part of Hazel class.

Reading:  3 times a week minimum.  Please ask a grown-up to sign your reading diary each time you read.  Bring your diary and reading book to school every day.

Spellings.  These are given out on a Tuesday in school and the homework is set on class dojo on a Wednesday.  You need to upload your work to class dojo before the following Monday. They are tested on the Monday.

Mathematics.  A Sumdog activity is set each week on a Wednesday.  This needs completing before the following Monday.  Children should also use TTRockstars to help support their times tables knowledge.

Remote Education

If your child is self-isolating at home (due to Covid symptoms or a positive Covid test result) but are well enough to continue with their schoolwork, then we will support them by providing remote learning through our online platforms and MS Teams. For detailed information on the policies and procedures we follow in such cases, please refer to our school website-key information-remote education section.

Anglo-Saxons and Outdoor Learning

As part of our work on Anglo-Saxons, we have been using our outdoor learning area to find out how to forage and cook food on an open fire.  We found blackberries and apples and baked bread on the fire.  We also made a delicious mulled drink too!

Year 6 visit to Haslingden High School

We visited Haslingden High School open day on 14th September and had a fantastic time carrying out Chemistry, Physics and Biology experiments in the Science lab and learning to play "When the Saints Go Marching In" in Music.
