Sensational Street Food

The Munch Box created a fantastic Street Food themed menu to support this terms topic ‘Globetrotters’. The children enjoyed a wide selection of ethnic foods from around the world, Noodles, Biryani, Pakoras and Tacos were just a few of the tasty foods available. All the decoration and music in the dining hall added to the lively atmosphere.

Fantastic Book Awards Party

The Fantastic Book Awards Great Chocoplot Party

Our Reading Group which we organised for the Fantastic Book Awards scheme has now finished for the year.

The group had fun reading the six titles and as a school we voted our favourite book as

“The Great Chocoplot” by Chris Callaghan.

To celebrate the end of the Awards scheme, we had a party on Thursday June 8th which included some chocolate (naturally!), but it was also General Election Day, so we held our own “chocolate election”!

After a blind tasting of ten types of well-known chocolate, we all voted and there was an outright winner –

The overall Lancashire county level winner was the book “Electrigirl” (which came third in our vote). All of the FBA titles are now available in the library for everyone to borrow.

Thank you to all the children who read so many books!

Class 1 celebrate Chinese New Year

Class 1 most recent ‘stay and play’ session invited parents to come and celebrate the Chinese New Year of the rooster with us! The children made Chinese banners, rooster cards, lanterns, good luck money packets and new year wishes as well as making yummy spring rolls with Mrs Lees! After all the craft fun the children then acted out the story of the Chinese New Year and did a dragon dance for their parents and the Key Stage 1 children!
