The children designed Islamic patterns during RE lessons and then transferred these designs onto fabric using batik (wax resist). They then painted the fabric using acrylic paint, allowed the paint to dry and then washed the fabric to remove the wax. The children then sewed another piece of fabric to their design to create a cushion which they stuffed and sewed up using blanket stitch. Some children chose to make tassles to decorate their cushions. The cushions are now displayed on different seating areas around school.
