We used music toolkit to make our own composition sequences on 2 sequence trying out the different sounds available. Children were able to talk about which sounds worked well together. They composed a happy piece and a lullaby to think about different effects. Everyone printed a copy of their favourite sequence, making use of both tuned and untuned percussion effects.
Back in the classroom, we practiced following one sequence together using a range of instruments. The children then worked in groups using one of their compositions to play together. They had to make some choices about which instruments to use. They practiced and then performed in their groups.
