Frogs and Toads Maths Problem

Here are some pics of posters made after working on a maths problem called Frogs and Toads.

The idea is for frogs and toads to swap sides, but they can only move by sliding one place to the side or jumping over one lily pad onto a vacant lily pad.  This is explained on the posters.

Objectives covered are:

  • to use appropriate methods to solve a problem, to spot patterns and explain them,
  • to use patterns to predict further outcomes, to use algebra to create an nth term (secondary school objective)
